Aminova × Strive × NewLife Rx
Prescriptions sent straight from the chart to two compounding pharmacies, with status coming back.
Compounded prescriptions are where most clinic workflows fall back to the fax machine. Starting today, a prescription to Strive or NewLife Rx leaves Aminova directly, and the pharmacy’s updates come back to the chart.
Aminova now connects directly to two compounding pharmacies: Strive Pharmacy and NewLife Rx. A prescriber who chooses either one as the pharmacy on a prescription sends the order from the chart, through the pharmacy's own system, in one step. The pharmacy's order status and shipping updates come back the same way, onto the prescription and into the patient's app.
There is no fax to send, no pharmacy portal to log into, and no second copy of the prescription to type.
The problem with the last mile
For most clinics, compounded medication is where the workflow breaks. The prescription is signed in one system. Then someone prints it, faxes it, or logs into the pharmacy's portal and types the patient, the address, the drug and the directions in again. Days later, the patient calls to ask where their medication is, and somebody at the front desk goes looking.
Every one of those steps is a place for a transposed digit, a wrong strength or an old address. None of it is clinical work. It is the cost of two systems that do not talk to each other.
What a direct integration changes
The order goes straight from the chart
When Strive or NewLife Rx is the pharmacy on a prescription, the prescriber chooses the medication from that pharmacy's own catalog, inside Aminova. On send, Aminova places the order with the pharmacy directly. The patient's name, date of birth, contact details and shipping address, the prescriber, and whether the order ships to the patient or to the practice all come from the chart. Where the pharmacy asks for clinical context, such as allergies, conditions and current medications, that comes from the chart too.
Checks happen before anything is sent
Aminova checks the order before it leaves. The medication has to be in the pharmacy's current catalog. The prescriber has to be on the clinic's account at the pharmacy, where the pharmacy requires it. The chart has to have every detail the order needs. If something is missing, nothing is sent, and the prescriber is told exactly what to fix. Sending again after a timeout is safe: it will not create a second order.
Status comes back to the chart and the patient
Once the pharmacy has the order, its updates flow back to Aminova as they happen: received, processing, shipped, delivered, along with the carrier and tracking number when it ships. They land on the prescription in the chart, so staff can answer "where is my medication?" without picking up the phone. Patients see their shipment's progress in the patient app.
The result is fewer transcription errors, fewer status calls, and less time between a signed prescription and a compounded medication on its way to the patient.
How it fits e-prescribing
This does not replace e-prescribing in Aminova. It sits beside it. The prescription is still written in the same place, signed by the same prescriber, with the same safety checks. The pharmacy chosen decides the route: Strive and NewLife Rx receive the order over their direct integration, and every other pharmacy still receives it over the e-prescribing network, or by fax where a clinic works that way.
A clinic that uses neither pharmacy sees no change at all.
Your pharmacy, your account
Every clinic still chooses its own pharmacies. Nothing about these integrations moves a prescription anywhere the prescriber did not send it.
- The account is the clinic's. A clinic connects its own existing Strive or NewLife Rx account. Aminova does not open pharmacy accounts on a clinic's behalf.
- The relationship stays between the clinic and the pharmacy. Billing for orders is between the clinic and the pharmacy. Aminova is the software that carries the order, not a party to it.
- Connecting is done on the Pharmacy page. A clinic asks to connect from its Pharmacy page in Aminova, and the pharmacy links the clinic's existing account. A clinic without an account yet can ask to have one set up.
What's next
Strive and NewLife Rx are the first direct pharmacy integrations in Aminova. They will not be the last. The work behind them, catalog-driven prescribing, checks before send, and status that flows back to the chart and the patient, is built to carry more pharmacies as we add them.
We are a young company, and the integrations we build next are shaped by the clinics using Aminova. If your clinic relies on a compounding pharmacy you would like to see connected directly, tell us.
