1. The short answer
Jane is built for health and wellness practitioners and is very good at scheduling. Aminova is built for cash-pay medical clinics whose providers prescribe.
Jane’s home page describes itself as practice management software for health and wellness clinics. Its pricing page and home page, as read in October 2026, do not mention e-prescribing or lab ordering. That does not prove Jane cannot do either; it does mean a medical clinic should ask before it assumes.
2. Jane App and Aminova pricing compared
For one practitioner, Jane is less than half the price. That is the honest starting point.
| Jane (as published, Oct 2026) | Aminova | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | Balance $59/mo, one practitioner, 20 appointments a month | Start-up $99/mo for clinics not prescribing yet; $0 for the first 3 months for the first 100 clinics |
| Main plan | Practice $79/mo, 1 full-time practitioner; Thrive $99/mo adds packages and memberships | $199/mo with 1 prescribing provider and 1 AI scribe seat; +$99/mo per extra prescriber; $99/mo for the first 3 months for new clinics billed monthly |
| Extra practitioners | Priced per full-time or part-time licence; amounts not shown in the page text | +$99/mo per prescribing provider; non-prescribing providers free |
| Front desk and admin | Free if they have no appointments booked | Free, unlimited |
| AI scribe | $15/mo per practitioner who opts in; 5 notes a month free | 1 seat included with Prescribing; extra seats $49/mo |
| Telehealth | 1:1 included; group telehealth $15/mo per practitioner | Included with Prescribing |
| Insurance billing | $20/mo, plus $5 or $2.50 per extra full- or part-time practitioner | Priced with you; superbills included on every plan |
| Setup and import | No setup fee listed; no additional cost for data imports | $250 activation on Prescribing, including the data move; none on Start-up |
| Trying it first | No trial; a demo and a demo account instead | No trial; a live demo instead |
A solo practitioner on Jane’s Thrive plan with the AI scribe pays $114 a month. A solo prescriber on Aminova pays $99 a month for the first three months, then $199, plus the $250 activation. If Jane covers everything you do, that difference is real money and you should keep it.
3. What a medical clinic needs that a booking system may not carry
Four things decide it: prescribing, labs, programmes and the record itself.
| Need | Why it matters for a medical clinic | Aminova |
|---|---|---|
| E-prescribing | If the prescription lives in another system, the chart is split from day one | From the chart, with two-factor signing |
| Lab orders and results | Results that arrive as faxes or portal downloads have to be filed by hand | Ordered from the chart, returned into it and trended |
| Medical programmes | Recurring visits, check-ins and refills on a schedule | Programmes, memberships and packages that draw down as visits happen |
| Inventory | What you administer in clinic, with lot and expiry | Inventory and dispensing tied to the visit |
None of that is a criticism of Jane, whose customers mostly do not need it. It is the reason a prescribing clinic on Jane usually ends up with a second system beside it, and the total of the two is the number to compare. See clinic software pricing models for how to add a stack up.
4. Where Jane is the better choice
Allied health, wellness practices without prescribers, and anyone for whom booking is the whole job.
Jane covers physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage and mental health practice properly, and Aminova deliberately does not. Its booking experience is excellent and its price is low. Its AI scribe at $15 per practitioner is inexpensive. A practice that does not prescribe should think hard before paying more for capabilities it will not use.
5. Where Aminova is the better choice
Clinics whose providers prescribe, order labs and run medical programmes, and who want one record instead of two.
That is hormone, longevity, medical weight-loss, IV therapy and functional medicine clinics, and med spas that have added a medical side. Aminova keeps the prescription, the lab result, the visit note, the membership and the payment on the same chart, with the AI scribe drafting the note and the provider signing it. Your staff are free, and you can add an app under your clinic’s own name. See our pricing for the full list.
6. Frequently asked questions
Is Jane App good for medical clinics?
Jane is strong for health and wellness practitioners and for booking. Its pricing and home pages do not mention e-prescribing or lab ordering as of October 2026, so a prescribing medical clinic should confirm those before choosing it.
Is Jane App cheaper than Aminova?
Yes for a single practitioner: Jane Practice is $79/mo and Thrive $99/mo, against Aminova Prescribing at $199/mo ($99/mo for the first three months for new clinics billed monthly).
Does Jane App have an AI scribe?
Yes. Jane lists an AI Scribe add-on at $15/mo per practitioner who opts in, with 5 notes a month free on core plans. Aminova includes one AI scribe seat with Prescribing.
Does Jane charge for front desk staff?
Jane says admin and support staff without booked appointments are free. Aminova includes unlimited staff, and non-prescribing providers are free too.
Can I move from Jane App to Aminova?
Yes. Export your patients, appointments and documents from Jane; on Aminova the data move is included in the $250 activation on the Prescribing plan.
